These quaint, one-bedroom villas are situated on beautiful grounds in Oakland Avenue, St Johns Hill. If you value an enriched, active and enjoyable retirement lifestyle, then Abingdon Villas are an ideal choice.

Nestled amongst native trees and picturesque gardens, the villas surround the historic Abingdon House, designed by famous Kiwi architect James Walter Chapman-Taylor. The house is now the village’s community centre and includes a shared dining room, shared lounges and a bedroom for guests.

At Abingdon Village you can enjoy living in your own home, but without the worry and hassle of property maintenance. We’ll take care of all the hard work! That includes maintenance, landscaping and gardens. Of course, if you’re a bit of a ‘DIY’ fan or enjoy pottering in the garden, you’re welcome to take care of the area around your villa. It’s up to you.

At Abingdon Retirement Village you’ll live independently, with the peace of mind of knowing help is at hand if you need it. We can offer daily (midday) meals and weekly laundry services of sheets, towels and other linen. Other health assistance services and household maintenance services can be provided by our Enliven Community Support service on (06) 349-1484. Enliven Community Support provides practical home help with housework and personal care at an additional cost. Some of these services may be funded by your local DHB depending on your needs assessment. Should a resident of Abingdon Villas need a rest home or hospital-level care, they would have first priority for admission to Enlivens Kowhainui Home located nearby at 88 Virginia Road.

Abingdon Villa residents may participate in any of the social activities held at Kowhainui. Kowhainui offers weekly shopping trips into town in their coach and villa residents are welcome to use this service.
